Reminiscenze dantesche nelle opere d'arte contemporanee ungheresi. Considerazioni sulla mostra "I nostri inferni e quello di Dante"

Abstract

Il presente contributo mira a offrire un commento alle opere d'arte di quattro artisti ungheresi contemporanei – Ilona Lovas, József Szurcsik, József Baksai e József Gaál – esibite alla mostra dal titolo I nostri inferni e quello di Dante (Roma, Accademia d’Ungheria in Roma, 23 settembre  -5 novembre 2021; poi installata a Budapest, Pesti Vigadó, 22 febbraio - 24 aprile 2022, con il titolo ungherese Kinek a pokla ma Dante Pokla, 'Di chi è oggi l'inferno di Dante?'). Tali opere non sono considerate illustrazioni della Commedia dantesca, ma senza dubbio riecheggiano lo spirito dell’Inferno di Alighieri, e questo breve saggio riflette sui legami tra il testo dantesco e le creazioni contemporanee.

This contribution aims to offer a commentary on the artworks by four contemporary Hungarian artists – Ilona Lovas, József Szurcsik, József Baksai, and József Gaál – displayed at the exhibition entitled I nostri inferni e quello di Dante (Rome, Academy of Hungary in Rome, 23 September - 5 November 2021; then installed in Budapest, Pesti Vigadó, 22 February - 24 april 2022, with the Hungarian title Kinek a pokla ma Dante Pokla?, 'Whose hell is Dante's today?'). Such works are not considered illustrations of Dante's Commedia, but they undoubtedly echo the spirit of Alighieri's Inferno, and this short essay reflects on the links between Dante's text and contemporary creations.
